The Kindle2 Feb 09, 2010 An altogether very good product and innovation. The best electronic bookreader I have used so far. I wish it could make it easier and quicker to navigate the Bible for people like Pastors/Ministers of religion. This way it would be convenient for everyone.
Kindle Feb 09, 2010 I love the Kindle, I read at work, no more hassle with taking more than one book. It is very easy to navigate and use, book purchases are also very easy.

Really cool gadget with a couple of flaws Feb 09, 2010 I have to admit, I never really wanted a Kindle. I like to feel the paper and smell the ink of the real thing when I read. But, my husband is a technology wonk, and he got this for me for Christmas. I've come to appreciate several things about my Kindle: the ease and speed of buying books online and having them downloaded to my Kindle almost immediately, being able to store an unlimited number of books on a unit that's small and light enough to fit in my purse (perfect for travel), and the added benefit of being able to review documents, highlight, and notate if I need to.
The two biggest problems I have with it are with the display. There is a definite glare issue if you're reading under direct light - a problem you wouldn't have with a real book. Second, if they put so much work into designing a reading light attachment, why not put the effort into making the screen backlit? There are times when I want to keep reading after my husband goes to sleep, but I don't want there to be a reading light on to disturb him. It seems simple enough to me that they could do this - I'd be willing to pay some extra money for this feature. It boggles my mind that they didn't think of that.
Overall, this was a great gift and I'm really glad my husband got it for me, because I probably wouldn't have bought it for myself.

present for my wife Feb 09, 2010 My wife had this on her xmas wish list. It's very well built and delivery was early. It has always been in "range" for wireless downloading books and newspapers and that's a neat feature. The battery seems to last forever. For those well researched this will be obvious, but If I was to perfect the next generation I would include touch screen navigation (the toggle switch is about a pleasing as the IBM's attempt at replacing the mouse pad with that post thing in the middle of the laptop keyboard), I would appreciate back light feature, and I struggle with the menu for finding my way around a magazine or newspaper download version. For reading books it is excellent but next version or the competitions next version will do well to make navigation easier and menu's more robust for newspaper. My wife gave it 5 stars but hey I bought it and it could be better- 4 stars for me.
